Living on this island, we all know the struggle: you just jogged two laps around the park or rushed to the gym for an hour of weight training after work, and you end up completely drenched. Your underarms feel like they’ve just been pulled out of a sauna. Taiwan’s humid, “steamer-like” climate mixes sweat with stifling heat, making body odor a major threat to social situations!

Enough theory—let’s see how they perform in practice! To find out which ingredient is better suited for Taiwan’s summer, I set up a straightforward comparison test last Saturday. 🏃♂️

- Location: Taipei Riverside Park
- Environment: Temperature 32°C, Humidity 75% (typical muggy weather in Taiwan)
- Activity: 10k road run + basic core training
The Process:
Before heading out, I applied a natural deodorant featuring “magnesium hydroxide” to my left underarm, and another product with a high concentration “baking soda” formula to my right underarm. Both were labeled as aluminum-free formulas.
⏱️ Hourly Observations:
- Hour 1 (Pace 6:30): Started to sweat slightly. The left underarm felt comfortable, and the right underarm also felt normal. No major difference between the two.

The Conclusion:
