Industrial grade magnesium carbonate is used to produce rubber, plastics, coatings, inks, glass, toothpaste and other products. Magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) is an effective raw material finding use in many applications. In rubber, magnesium carbonate can be used as an extender in rubber bands, rubber thread, and for any application where a translucent compound is required. The recommended level of loading is from 5 to 40 parts on the rubber polymer. Generally, as the loading is increased, the modulus will also increase. MgCO3 provides reasonably good reinforcement with minimal reduction in rebound and resilience. In flame resistant applications, MgCO3 has been shown to produce more char than ATH or Mg(OH)2. Magnesium Carbonate will reinforce more than ATH and Mg(OH)2 and as a result will raise compound viscosity proportionally. It is an excellent compounding agent to reduce smoke and flame propagation where the mechanism of action is moisture release and CO2 emission.
Technical grades of basic magnesium carbonate are used in industrial applications, such as bleaching, anti-caking, manufacture of catalysts production of magnesium-containing derivatives. Messi Biology produces magnesium carbonate light tech raw material used in worldwide, we are not a distributor, but a manufacturer specialized in research and technology.
Specialty Minerals BMC grades are
- characterized by extremely low impurity levels especially in regard to elements that are undesirable in most industrial applications such as lead, iron heavy metals and transition elements.
