High-Purity Nano-Magnesium Oxide (MgO)

Product Overview

High-purity nano-magnesium oxide is produced via the plasma gas-phase combustion method. It features high purity, small particle size, uniform distribution, and a large specific surface area. The surface is clean with no residual impurities. Characterized by low bulk density and ease of dispersion, it exhibits significant small-size effects, surface effects, quantum size effects, and macroscopic tunneling effects. After surface modification treatment, the product shows no hard agglomeration and offers superior dispersibility and high nano-activity within various systems. This allows the nano-MgO particles to leverage their unique optical, electrical, magnetic, thermal, and quantum properties, significantly enhancing the performance of traditional products and endowing them with new functionalities.

Product Applications

  1. High-Performance Ceramics: Nano-MgO possesses excellent sintering properties. It enables low-temperature sintering without the need for sintering aids, resulting in high-density fine-grained ceramics or multi-functional magnesium oxide thin films. It is an ideal material for harsh environments involving high temperatures and high corrosion.
  2. Wave-Absorbing Materials: Due to its high activity and dispersibility, nano-MgO easily composites with polymers and other materials. These composites exhibit excellent microwave absorption without reducing the strength or toughness of the matrix material. Fibrous magnesium oxide also provides a reinforcing effect.
  3. Fillers for Coatings, Plastics, and Rubber: Its high dispersibility makes it an ideal filler for paints, paper, and cosmetics; a filler and reinforcing agent for plastics and rubber; and an auxiliary material for various electronic components.
  4. Adsorbents and Catalysts: With a large specific surface area, nano-MgO is a vital raw material for high-function fine inorganic materials, electronic components, inks, and adsorbents for harmful gases.
  5. Functional Flame Retardant Materials: Nano-MgO provides excellent flame retardancy. It can be used with wood chips and shavings to manufacture lightweight, sound-proof, heat-insulating, and fire-resistant fiberboards, as well as cermets. In fireproof coatings, an addition of 1%-5% yields significant results.
  6. Other Applications: Fuel additives, detergents, antistatic and anti-corrosion agents, electrical insulators, and the manufacturing of crucibles, furnaces, and insulating conduits (tubular elements).
  7. Foam Ceramic Filters: Used to prepare filters for alloy liquid purification, solving technical difficulties in filtering magnesium alloys and high-temperature alloys containing active elements.
  8. Sintering Aids: Used alongside rare earth oxides as a sintering aid for silicon nitride ceramics to economically produce complex-shaped products such as cutting tools, sealing rings, bearings, nozzles, and various wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant components.
  9. High-Toughness Ceramic Materials: Combined with Yttrium Oxide ( Y2O3Y_2O_3Y2O3 ) or rare earth oxides as a composite stabilizer, it is used to produce partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) ceramics with excellent mechanical properties and high-temperature aging resistance. These materials are widely used for high-temperature engineering components and refractories.

Packaging and Storage

  • Packaging: This product is vacuum-packed in plastic bags filled with inert gas.
  • Storage: Store in a dry, cool, and sealed environment. Do not expose to air. Prevent moisture to avoid oxidative agglomeration, which may affect dispersibility and performance.
  • Customization: Packaging quantity can be provided and subdivided according to customer requirements.
