Six square sized magnesium hydroxide preparation process

Abstract

A method of preparing porous magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide hexagonal flakes belongs to the technical field of inorganic nano-functional materials. First use magnesium nitrate and deionized water to make magnesium nitrate solution, then add ammonia, and finally add sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), mix well and put into an autoclave for hydrothermal reaction, take out after the reaction, and then wash with ethanol and deionized water repeatedly, and then dry to get a white precipitate powder, which is porous magnesium hydroxide hexagonal tablets; and then calcine porous magnesium hydroxide hexagonal tablets to get porous magnesium oxide hexagonal tablets. The porous magnesium oxide hexagonal sheet is obtained by calcining the porous magnesium hydroxide hexagonal sheet. The obtained material has stronger and faster adsorption performance for organic dyes, so it has a broad development prospect and application value when used as adsorbent for sewage treatment.

Description

A method of preparing porous magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide hexagonal sheets

Technical Field: Porous Magnesium Hydroxide and Magnesium Oxide Hexagonal Flakes

The present invention relates to a method for preparing porous magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide hexagonal sheets, which belongs to the technical field of inorganic nano-functional materials.

Background Technology

Dyes are considered as the number one pollutant in sewage, and with the growth of urban population and the development of industry and agriculture, the threat of organic dyes to the environment is intensifying year by year, and it has become a serious global problem day by day, so how to reasonably and efficiently remove organic dyes in sewage has become an urgent task.

In recent years, flaky porous magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide have been widely used in wastewater treatment and show excellent adsorption performance. They possess high specific surface area and mesoporous structure, the high specific surface area provides a large number of active sites for molecules or ions to stay on the surface, the mesoporous structure provides a transportation channel for mass transfer, and their overall structure of nanoscale size is easier to separate from water. The present invention employs an efficient and simple hydrothermal method to prepare porous magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide hexagonal flakes, providing a non-toxic, economical and environmentally friendly efficient adsorbent for water treatment.

Content of the Invention

The object of the present invention is to provide a method for preparing porous magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide hexagonal flakes capable of adsorbing organic dyes in sewage.

The preparation method of the porous magnesium hydroxide hexagonal tablets provided by the present invention is characterized in that it is mainly prepared in accordance with the following steps: first, magnesium nitrate and deionized water are used to make magnesium nitrate solution, then ammonia is added, and finally, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is added, and then it is placed into an autoclave after mixing uniformly to carry out a hydrothermal reaction, and then taken out after the reaction, and then it is repeatedly washed with ethanol and deionized water to obtain white after drying. After drying, white precipitate powder is obtained, which is porous magnesium hydroxide hexagonal tablets.

The preparation method of porous magnesium oxide hexagonal tablets is mainly prepared in accordance with the following steps: first use magnesium nitrate and deionized water to make magnesium nitrate solution, then add ammonia, and finally add sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), mix uniformly and put into an autoclave, carry out a hydrothermal reaction, take out after the reaction, wash with ethanol and deionized water repeatedly, and then dry to get the white precipitate powder porous magnesium hydroxide hexagonal tablets. That is, the precursor of the porous magnesium oxide hexagonal sheet; and then the precursor is calcined in a tube furnace to produce the porous magnesium oxide hexagonal sheet.

In the above method, the ratio of said magnesium nitrate solid and deionized water used in said magnesium nitrate solution is 0.1 g: 1 ml.

In the above method, the ratio of said magnesium nitrate, ammonia and SDS is 0.6g: 4ml: 0.2g.

In the above method, the reaction temperature of said hydrothermal method is 180°C and the reaction time is 12 hours.

In the above method, said calcination temperature is 400°C, the calcination time is 60 minutes, and the heating rate from room temperature to the calcination temperature is 4 to 5°C/min, preferably in an air atmosphere.

The present invention on the other hand also provides the application of porous magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide hexagonal flakes in the removal of organic dyes. Said organic dyes are mainly Congo red and methyl orange.

wastewater treatment

The preparation process of the present invention is simple, the raw material is costly, it is easy to produce industrially, and both magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide have strong and fast adsorption performance for organic dyes, so it has a broad development prospect and application value in being used as an adsorbent for sewage treatment.
